I'm trying to make adjustments to the video library screen, and am having some difficulties. First, I can't figure out how to change the number of files listed. I seem to recall doing this before, but now there no longer seems to be a setting for this.

Also, when I make changes to the skin.xml in the video library folder for the skin I'm using, and then restart the recording service, there are no changes. In fact, as a test, I stopped the recording service, renamed the skin.xml file to skin.xml.old, and then restarted. Instead of getting an error, the video library screen looked just the same as before. I thought it might be falling back to the video library skin.xml in the Blue collection, so I renamed that one, and there was still no change.

I am using gbpvr version 0.96.12, and The Collection skin.

-------------------
After I first posted this, I went back to experiment some more. After stopping and starting the recording service a few more times, it went wacky, and kept starting and stopping by itself every few seconds. I rebooted, and when I started the GBPVR app and tried to enter the video library screen, it now said it couldn't find the skin.xml file(that I had renamed skin.xml.old).

Apparently, I am at a much lower point on the learning curve than I thought I was, and it is looking a lot steeper than before.

The recording service does not use the skin files. You need to stop and restart gbpvr itself to make a difference.

That's odd, because restarting the recording service is how I got changes in the skin files to take effect before, using previous versions of GBPVR.

Another (to me) odd thing occurred today. In the course of my experimentation, I moved all of the skin directories out of "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin" except the folder for the skin I am using, "Collection". The next time I rebooted, the GBPVR installer opened up, and it reinstalled the "Blue" skin folder in "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin".

I'm not sure its odd, but Blue is the default so its required. Sub added logic that would have any plugin not finding a skin file look for the "Blue" skin files.

So I'll bet he added a way for GBPVR to "fix" any problems it finds when it starts.
GBPVR Server:
AMD Sempron 3300+, 1gb DDR, 100, 200 & 500gb HDDs, DVD -/+RW PVR150 RETAIL, PVR150MCE.
GBPVR 1.0.16, SKIN'S = Default Blue, PLUGIN'S = None

The default behaviour of the Windows Installer is to "repair" applications that have been damaged since installation, so it most likely reinstalled these files.

I didn't run Windows Installer, I just rebooted and it started by itself. Does Windows Installer check every application for damage every time I reboot? Is that why it takes so long to boot-up?
