I just downloaded GB-PVR and the installation went great. I don't have a TV tuner yet (will be buying that Saturday) but wanted to get started. I dropped some video files I downloaded off the internet (uh, legally of course Wink) into the video folder. They're AVIs, assuming XVID codec. GB shows them just fine in the videos list, but when I hit enter to play one, it locks up and I have to exit PVR and go back in to do anything. Anyone know whats wrong? The videos play fine in WMP10. I'm running XP SP2.

Thanks for your help.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look.

From the logs it just looks like Directshow is just failing to find a decoder for the requested AVI file. I dont know why Windows Media Player is managing to find it and GB-PVR isnt. They both just ask Directshow to do it.

All I can suggest is try installing a different decoder that can handle this type of file.

I installed the xvid coded and that did the trick. Thanks for the quick help Smile
