Sub,
I downloaded and installed Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3. After installing it, GBPVRRecordingService consistently crashes when I try to start it. The info from Windows is:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception was unhandled
Message="Access is denied"
Source="System"
ErrorCode=-2147467259
NativeErrorCode=5
StackTrace:
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()
at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at GBPVR.RecordingService.x2636c7dc33a3e19d.xcba1f05fb5a46d5f()
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()
I finally gave up and de-installed IE7, whereupon GBPVR is back to normal.
I looked at the GBPVRRecordingService log file and there were no messages there indicative of any problem. (Unfortunately I lost the log file in the process of reverting. If it's important to you, I'll reinstall IE7 to reproduce the problem and get the log file. There was only the one log file from GBPVRRecordingServce; no other processes had started and no other log files had been created.)
I'm not in a hurry to have IE7. But FYI, Microsoft has just announced that when IE7 is officially released (projected 4Q06) they'll be using Windows Automatic Update to distribute it automatically. So it's probably worthwhile to resolve this problem before that happens.
Cheers .... Bob
