I am a complete newbie in the DVR arena.

After extensive reading and a lot of enthusiasm, I started my project by going out and buying a Hauppauge 150 card. Reviews on multiple websites pointed me to try using GBPVR as one of the most useful and simple to use softwares.

Here, I am running latest GBPVR with latest Hauppauge drivers and totally frustrated.
I can get my live TV going, but when the time comes to pause it timeshifting, the software tells me "Starting Timeshift mode TV, please wait." Pressing pause again or play to come out of this mode just takes me back to main main menu.

Another problem is with recording anything. I am getting the classic "0 byte size" files in the folder or no files created at all. (although folders get created)

I have tried several methods to fix these problems as described in other threads, but of no avail. Please help me.

I am attaching the log files.

Are you using a remote, or a mouse, or a keyboard to pause?

Do some recordings do this, or all recordings? Can you zip and attach your GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log files when this happens next. The latter of these two files was no in the logs attached above.

Thanks sub for the quick reply.

I have tried using all (remote, keyboard and mouse) and the problem is still there.

This thing happens for all recordings. I was never able to get anything recorded on my computer. I have checked for harddrive space, and that is not a problem either. (I have at least 20GB on the drive)

I have attached updated zip file in my original post. Please look at it.

I can see the error in your logs that would account for this, but I'm not sure why you get this, or what you need to do to fix it. Its not an error I remember anyone having in the past.
Quote:17:26:01.156 ERROR failed to start Conexant Graph
17:26:01.156 VERBOSE E_NOINTERFACE
This will cause both your 'pause' and recording problems.

Maybe try reinstalling the Hauppauge drivers, or possibly a different driver version?

Does the Hauppauge WinTV software make recordings successfully?

Maybe try reinstalling everything Hauppauge related, including the drivers.

If have seen this before and Sub is right it has all to do with the drivers and software from hauppauge.

- Deinstall GBPVR
- Deinstall alle drivers and software from Hauppauge
- Deinstall any codec packs you might have installed.

Then download the following from hauppauge:

This a tool to deinstall any left-over drivers from Hauppauge from your system.

The latest drivers from Hauppauge for your 150 card.

All the needed DLL files for your Hauppauge 150.

The MPEG2 decoder software from Hauppauge. Very important to install on your system BEFORE you install any other codecs!

If you have a remote from hauppauge you can install this software.

Now first use the HWClear software to get rid of any left over driver software after you deinstalled everything. Then reboot the computer and when windows finds your Hauppauge 150 card again point windows to the drivers you downloaded. Windows will now install the drivers. After this install the DLL's. (pvr26xxx.EXE). After this install the MPEG2 software (hcwSMD05.EXE).

Now reboot your pc and you can go on.
- Install GBPVR and configure it as needed.

This should hopefully do the trick....
