No. I'm saying that if it's when using the MVP (because that is how you are connecting to your tv, right?), then the decoder is not the issue at all. It's not used by the MVP. You will still need the decoder if and when you want to watch anything on the laptop. You were confusing me with the subject of this thread, since your question actually does not have anything to do with a laptop, but with an MVP. Maybe you should try reposting your question in the MVP part of the forum, the guys who read that part know more about MVP's. I've never seen one myself Smile

Sorry for throwing the topic off. When I did my original reply, I'd missed the "MVP" part of your post (skim reading). As everyone has pointed out, the video decoder is not used on an MVP setup.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

Hi sorry for the delay,
Good news I followed the advice of another post in the forum where it suggest to download and install mvp beta. I assigned it an adress fired up and worked I am so happy with the finished result. I kinda wanted the option of changing channels without using my directv remote but its no big deal because evrythng is so close together. Here is the link method I followed:

You could always get the USB-UIRT. That would work Smile
