Internal Video Player

Is is possible for the internal video player in GBPVR to play OGG and NSV files? I have all the correct codecs installed, I am also using ffdshow which handles most of it for me. I can play the files in mplayer,winamp and vlc. Also, how do I get them to show up in the Video library as the filesare in the directory but they don't show up in the list? Thanks in advance

Afaik, if you can play it with wmp you can play it in gbpvr. Vlc and Mediaplayerclassic are good players but use their own decoders so they don't have anything to do with gbpvr. Afaik ogg is an audio format so it wouldn't belong in video-archive. I think MusicLibrary 2 is (or will be) supporting it. I think in one of the video-archive plugins you can configure what filetypes it will show, so you can add e.g. NVS.

I dont think the built in video library handles these, but if you use the myvideos plugin, then you are able to specify the file types you wish to display.

If you are running the .net 2.0 version, then myvideos is available from http://www.reven.co.nz, otherwise for earlier versons, it's on the wiki.

GB-PVR uses Microsoft Directshow libraries for doing all its video playback. WMP uses the same libraries. GB-PVR only uses WMP when doing its music playback (to get the visualisations).

The built in Music Library currently ignores files that dont have the following file extensions.

mpeg|mpg|m2v|avi|avs|ogm|mp4|mov|wmv|iso|rm|dvr-ms|ts|mkv|vob|divx|ratDVD|m4v|3gp

Thanks for the info. So basically speaking, if I can get a directshow filter for a video, then GBPVR can play it.?. Are the extensions configurable?

In theory yes.

Unfortunately no, not for the built in video library. You could always use something like the MyVideos plugin which lets you specify the extensions.
