I have a PC collecting dust, and want to set it up as a GBPVR server, and my current machine to be client.
here is the process I plan to do--
find a few hour time span with no recordings.
shut down PCs
swap tuner cards & recordings drives
power back up
load drivers and GBPVR 97.7 on server
copy gbpvr.db3 and config.xml from current machine
upgrade server to 98.8
upgrade current to 98.8 and set as client
does this seem correct??
am I missing a step??
did I add an unnecessary step??
I plan to run CAT-5 cable to the client, as it is currently wireless.
I also need to figure out remote.
my current remote plugs into the tuner card, which will be in the other room.
my friend has an extra USB infrared sensor I can "borrow" from him.
would I use UIRT for that??
I would want to map it to the hauppauge remote I am already used to.
