Hauppauge PVR 150 Closed Captions

Has there been any update as to the feasability of this card PVR 150 NTSC recordng/viewing/playback of closed captions, many of the older posts confirm no way, but I am wondering if the latest drivers have been updated or fixed. I understand there is a workaround using the card with MCE 2005, but i don't want to go that route

what is this workaround you speak of?

There is a post somewhere here that MCE 2005 has CC in the proprietary DVR-MS format. That is the only way to get CC from a PVR-150.

Is the lack of CC with the PVR 150 a hardware or driver problem?. Perhaps Hauppauge will eventually support CC as the 150 is a newer product.

There was some comments in the release notes for the Hauppauge drivers a while back that the PVR150 may do this some time in the future. I have no idea when though.

Thanks Sub, is there any other capture cards that support CC using GBPVR other than the Hauppage 250/350.

No, not that I know of.

Even with the PVR250/350 its pretty week. It'll let you record them for display during playback, not CC in live tv etc.

I get CC with LiveTV in timeshift mode.
