Anyone have any ideas??

I too have this problem of "stuttery" video, however as I only discovered GBPVR recently i've only ever used version 98 so can't compare it to earlier versions. Initially when I first built the PVR I had a monitor attached to the first head of my dual head Matrox G450 and when I switched the VMR to version 7 it fixed the stuttering problem. After settling on a config I've now moved the pc to the lounge and am using the TV out feature on the 2nd head of the card (it has to be this head) and if I use vmr7 I can see the GBPVR menus etc just fine but when I watch live tv I get NO picture and only audio. As far as I can tell everything else is fine display wise eg weather plugin, music plugin etc.
If I switch to VMR9 or VMR9 custom I get a picture but then the stuttery playback and audio are back. Any ideas? I've tried disabling the OSD and teletext without any noticable difference. Why would vmr7 cause a black screen wheras 9 doesn't? Pc is a 2.4 ghz pentium 4 with 1gb ram so i'd have thought it was grunty enough. When watching live tv the cpu utilisation is only 9%,i'm using an Avermedia A700 dvb-s card. If I watch live tv using progdvb picture etc is fine. Is it a combination of the filters that are giving me the problem? Everything is set to "system default" at the moment. Thanks for takling the time to read this, any help appreciated. Robert

Hey there - did you ever resolve this?
A couple things: Yes, the decoders definitely matter. You'll want to get the Microsoft Decoder Checker utility to see what your system is using: http://download.microsoft.com/download/9...KSetup.EXE Also, check if your capture card and video card are sharing the same IRQ.
Dedicated HTPC: MSI K7N420 Pro, AMD 2200+, 1.5GB RAM, PVR150, 550Pro, ATI 9800XT, 300GB Maxtor HD, Diamond XTreme DDL Sound, MVP over wireless bridge, GBPVR 1.2.13

Yes I did, btu the solution appeared under a different post:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=21264 It was in part related to the way my dual head Matrox card was configured. Thanks for taking the time to reply, Robert |
