Very Basic IR Blaster Question

Hello,
I recently bought the Hauppauge PVR-250 bundle that comes with the grey remote and IR blaster. My question is this, will this IR Blaster be capable of both receiving signals from my remote and sending signals to my cable box, or is it just one or the other?

Sorry for such a such a basic question, I've searched the forums here extensively and couldn't find anything.

sez "Included with this package ... Infra-red remote control transmitter and receiver."

So yeah, you should be able to send and receive IR signals.
