xbox 360 update for .wmv videos and gbpvr

xbox 360 was updated 11/1/2006 to allow you to play .wmv files on the xbox 360 even if you do not have MCE but mearly Windows Media Connect.

Unfortunately the current ffmpeg conversion settings (in the config.xml) do not play on the 360.

For anyone who has (or wants to help to) changed the transcode to be xbox 360 supportable [I would appreciate it].
Supported Video Codecs:
Windows Media Video 7 - WMV1
Windows Media Video 8 - WMV2
Windows Media Video 9 - WMV3
Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile - WVC1

Anyone know how to get ffmpeg to convert properly to one of these codecs so xbox will play back my shows?

thanks for the suggestion. I could not get TvVersity to work. Do you actually use it to transcode to your 360? I use windows media connect. do you know if there is an issue with that? some help would be appreciated.

Anyone know how to make this work with the gbpvr auto encode in the <CustomFFmpegConversions> of the gbpvr config.xml? Currently:

ok i got this to work,

in config goto the processing tab and change auto-convert MPG recordings to: "No Conversion" then apply settings

then in the GBPVR directory Normally C:\Program Files\Devnz\Gbpvr\ make a txt file containing

"c:\vlc\vlc-0.8.6-test1-20061031-0330\vlc" -vvv %1 --sout-ffmpeg-qscale 1 out=#transcode{vcodec=WMV2,width=640,height=480,acodec=wma,ab=96,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=asf,dst=%1-hq-43.wmv}}

Rename the text file as PostProcessing.bat

you will need to change "c:\vlc\vlc-0.8.6-test1-20061031-0330\vlc" for the path to VLC

this will encode the video file after recording.
