Hi

I have 0.98.13b installed, using the Access database. All is working well except for the TV Guide. When I select it (either on PC or MVP) I get a window pop up saying "Error: The wait completed due to an abandoned mutex." I have no idea what this means, but, when I press ok it just goes back to the main menu.

On second, and subsequent, pressing of the TV Guide button I get "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

I have looked at both gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log (with debug logging enabled) and can find no entry that sheds any light on the problem. Indeed compating the logs immediately before pressing the TV guide button and immediately after, I can confirm that there is no new information written to any log.

Has anyone seen this error, or could anyone suggest where I should start to try to solve the promlem ? I have installed the XGuide plugin and that works perfectly, as does the Enhanced Web Admin TV guide.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Hi - me again.

Looking at my gbpvr.exe.log I can see some errors which have already ben logged before I press the TV Guide button. Do any of these look like they would cause my problem ?

I have found something in my XMLTV EPG file which I think explains the problem. I use WebEPG to download data from radiotimes.com. I had set up two channels ("Adventure 1" & "The Biography Channel") with the same channel id - both were "thebiographychannel.co.uk". WebEPG tries to fix this by changing one to "thebiographychannel.co.uk1" in its output file. However, it seems that the channel id's are still too alike for TV Guide to work. Correcting my error appears to have fixed things (I hope permanently).

To illustrate, the following is the strart of my problematic XMLTV EPG output file :-

<tv generator-info-name="WebEPG">

<display-name>Adventure 1</display-name>

<display-name>Animal Planet</display-name>

<display-name>BBC1 Northern Ireland</display-name>

<display-name>BBC2 Northern Ireland</display-name>

<display-name>BBC3</display-name>

<display-name>BBC4</display-name>

<display-name>Biography Channel</display-name>

Does this make any sense to you sub ?

Thanks again - Jimmy

Hi

I started getting the same message since 1/1/2007. As i read it has something to do with the EPG data (xmltv). I dont know much about editing it, what shall i do? i cant use my EPG at all now.

Fixed it

it was a temporary thing between 31.12.06 to 1.1.07. i guess the year change messed up the EPG. Back to normal

Thx
