Both gbpvr.exe and config.exe give this error, could this be caused by the fact that my trial period of windvd 7 has expired and that I had this selected as the mpeg2 decoder ? No logs are produced, just the old Microsoft send this error report blah blah blah window.

If so, how can I change this in config.xml somewhere so the config prog will start ?

i dont think that windvd would cause you a problem - have you tried a reinstall of .net 2 ?

Yeh tried that, didn't make a difference. Everything is still working fine via MVP or the web service, I just can't start either config or gbpvr on the pc.

Event log entries as below :-

EventType clr20r3, P1 gbpvr.exe, P2 1.0.2486.9816, P3 1f, P4 mscorlib,
P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4333ab80, P7 393c, P8 27, P9 system.security.security, P10 NIL.

EventType clr20r3, P1 config.exe, P2 1.0.2486.27882, P3 15, P4 gbpvrbackendcommon,
P5 1.0.2486.9813, P6 1b, P7 28, P8 7, P9 system.io.fileloadexception, P10 NIL.

This gets weirder . . . if I start either config or gbpvr from a command prompt they work fine, if I use a shortcut or just click on them in explorer they give this error.

Edit:- Changed the shortcuts from //name/c to C:, now works . . .
