Remote from Hauppauge kit not working

I have the MCE remote with the (253) Hauppauge 500MCE kit. The system recognizes the reciever only because I found 3 files I needed from you guys mentioning them. But it doesnt work with gbpvr. When I installed gbpvr it said to set the remote and restart the IR software. I downloaded the IR software with a wintv program from Haup, but it never worked and always errored. Now everytime I restart the computer it looks for a driver for the remote and I can't get it to work with gbpvr. Can anyone either send me the files or walk me through how to get a MCE remote to work with XP Pro. I am in dire need to make this work. Also I used the LNA tool with the Haup card and it fixed the crappy reception, too bad they don't include it when you buy the card. Can anyone please help me?

Be sure you've set the remote type to MCE in the GB-PVR config. It's not a Hauppauge remote and you don't have to restart any IR software.

What is this LNA tool you mentioned?

The LNA tool is something that runs in your system tray and helps the Haup 500 tune in the lower channels. It looked crappy and I emailed them and told them my issue. Within 1 hr I was emailed instructions and the .zip file that included the LNA tool. You just enable it and then when you use gbpvr every channel comes in clear. They should include this in the software cd with every 500 they sell, because they wouldn't get ruturns or unhappy customers if everyone knew about this. I hear it might not work with vista...but I have xp pro so who cares. If anyone needs it I will post it with instructions to fix anyones Haup 500.

I will try it again but I had to replace and will restart to see if it fixed my issues. Thanks
