Love the program, but I have a few questions concering it.

Is there an option somewhere to change the options for "Quick Record". If not, what are the default quality settings set to? I want to just be able to record by pressing quick record but want to make sure it is recording the highest quality possible.

Also, right now my picture quality isn't all that great and my frame rate is pretty low (i'd guess 20-25fps). For me, this is borderline unacceptable. I'm sure it is my hardware but I'd figure I'd ask you guys what you thought the weakest link of my system was:

Athlon 1800+ 1.5 4GHz
640 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Video Card
Hauppauge PVR-500 Dual Tuner Card

Thanks in advance...

I believe what your looking for is in GBPVR config under the Capture Sources tab. Highlight the specific device, click edit then under recording source you can select the quality that device will default record at.

No, thats not quite right.

The quick record always uses the 'medium' profile, but you can edit the medium profile to use whatever bitrate and resolution you want.

As I mentioned above, you can edit the medium profile to use whatever settings you want.

The default settings are pretty good though, variable bitrate with a peak of 7200Kbps, 720x480 29.97 fps for NTSC, 720x576 30 fps for PAL. I'd say your quality problem is one of two things:

1) poor quality playback because of video decoder, or video renderer, or video card, or machine specs etc, or
2) some people have reported newer PVR500s producing poorer quality pictures (not a GB-PVR problem, affects other apps also)
