Please help I am truly out of ideas, after running GBPVR successfully for about 18 months (in various versions) I was suffering from trying to do to much on one PC, so decided to build a dedicated media PC.
The PC I built from new and old parts is as below
(old PC spec is in the Signature)
gbpvr version 9905 (also tried 9813)
Windows XP pro
Celeron 2.4G
Mother board Epox 4pda2+ (Intel i865-pe chipset)
memory 512 Meg PC3200 DDR Corsair Value Select
video card inno3d nvidia geforce 6200 256m
System / program disk
40 Gb Western Digital WD400JB Caviar SE, IDE (PATA), 7200 rpm, 8MB Cache,8.9 ms
Video disk
320 Gb Western Digital WD3200KS Caviar SE16, SATA300, 7200 rpm, 16MB Cache,8.9 ms
Hauppauge PVR 150
Twinhann sat 1022A
The problem I have is that recorded programs from satellite drop a couple of frames every 30 seconds like clockwork, from analogue still get glitches but not as pronounced or regular.
The problem seems to be at the recording stage as I can play files recorded on the old PC fine if they are copied to the hard disk of the new PC or over the network, but files recorded on the new PC still glitch when played back from either PC via a MVP
I have tried various drivers/ codecâs/ mux's / moved pci cards about / rebuilt the OS to sp2 and no further updates / no firewall antivirus etc to try and prove the source of trouble, can't see any processor or memory spikes every thing looks completely un stressed.
Is there anything that happens every 30 seconds that could cause this, has anyone else had a similar problem?
Any ideas or experiance truely welcome.
Thanks Marc
