Thanks Martin, very detailed, that was a lot more than I'd bargained for :-).

I've d/l it already and will give it a crack too, like HtV.
  • I don't have the widescreen TV to take advantage of that feature, but the other stuff looks good.
  • Working volume controls is a goody, I sometimes switch between normal TV and that fed through the MVP and the difference in Volume wakes the kids up. Rather annoying, so to be able to syhcronise the same level between the two would be great.
  • Better video buffering. Yep I could use some of that.
  • Remote power off. Yep, useful for me.
My own priorities before it would be the "main event" would be FF/RW and Skip, and a more responsive remote (although for me THAT could be fixed by a gruntier PC). Others (H3 users esp.) might wish for more stability.

I know you have the mvpmc site, but I was actually wondering whether you would consider a sub-forum under "plugins" (although not strictly a plugin) or under MVP, I'm sure if more people knew about it, tested it, suggested stuff and maybe even contributed programming-wise if they are sufficiently talented :-) the dongle would get more exposure.

petewxm Wrote:Hi, I`ve got another problem now, when I change channel, it goes back to the mvpmc main screen. Anyone know how I can fix this.

That would be a crash, and it happens about 20% of the time for me and like I said in my tome

HtV Wrote:Martin, this article gave me the guts to try out your dongle. I am really impressed about what you've achieved so far. It really worked quite nice in emualation mode. I only missed the ff/skip function, I guess that is still under construction. I'll follow the project with more interest now. Let's hope something really good/usefull will come out of it eventually. Although I guess you are already having a good time with it, that's what really counts.Smile
Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the support, but its odd too, ff and skip actually work for me, at least with mpeg2 files. Assuming you are using 0.3.3, I'll have to check to see if I broke something.

But yes emulation mode is still under construction, I'm just waiting for the next release of GB-PVR to start.

Yes, I was using the latest 033 version and yes it was a mpeg2 file.
Maybe I'll try some more tomorrow. As you said it's not something to try out with the family around.Wink And I must admit 01.00 at night might not be the right time eitherRolleyes .

I figured I'd say it all once.

That would be up to sub really, I'd be a bit worried of the forum becoming an mvpmc support forum. Here I can ignore messages talking about things I know mvpmc can or could do, it would be harder in a sub-forum. But it would be great to see some GBPVR logs when problems do occur.

Also the primary support for mvpmc are the mailing lists and not the forums, which I find on sourceforge are a waste of time.

I'm quite happy to create you a sub forum for this if you like. You can either have it under the 'plugin an skin' forum, which is where the bulk of third party support is currently done, or you can have it as a sub forum to the MVP forum.

I dont really mind what you discuss in there, including non-emulation mode mvpmc stuff. Its of relevence and interest to GB-PVR users, so I cant see any reason why not.

I'm happy to give you a pre-release when testing starts.

Thanks sub that is very generous. I hadn't thought about it being a sub-forum of MVP but that makes sense. It also will avoid confusion since in theory the mvpmc dongle should support all mvp plugins and skins.

I really don't want to discuss MythTV!

Great send me an email or an PM when it's ready and I will start right away.

I forgot there was is a feature to set a default volume in mvpmc, I just don't take advantage of it.

That is my #1 goal too. I don't really see any differences with the new and older models when it comes to stability but I test on both anyway.

Certainly all help is appreciated , especially since I only use my mvp for audio. I'm also looking for some help with the web gui config, originally I just through something together.
