I have had problems lately with my guide being blank whenever I want to look to see what is on, or record something. I only have one coaxial outlet in my room and am to lazy to buy a spliter for my TV and my TV Tuner Card, so I just unplug the cable and swtich it whenever I feel like. I hasn't been a problem in the past until now. I think the program reads the guide out of the cable feed (I think) and so I have kept the cable plugged into my card for a whole day for it to refresh the guide but this did not work. Can someone take me through a walkthrough of how to get my channels back please?

So I thought the problem was that the cable needed to be plugged in and the computer "awake" when the epg update needs to be done. However I have tried that and it still wasnt working afterwards. I even updated the time for when it was supposed to update just now, and it didnt work. Does it need to be plugged in for multiple epg updates?

Only if you're using the DVB EPG option.

When you say "cable", you're not referring to the "network cable" right? ie, that your PC would use to access the internet.

Did you apply the patch I provided the link to above?

I am refering to the coaxial cable, and no I did not apply the patch because from what I gather from the reason for the patch, that is not my problem.

If you click the 'update epg' does it pull in your listings? If not, zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

If you're a zap2it user, are you sure you account doesnt need renewing?
