I've just reinstalled GB-PVR on my system and plugged it into my new 50" Pioneer Plasma (which looks absolutely amazing!). I'm running 99.12 using an MCE150 TV card. My problem is that using the standard VMR9 option no matter what MPEG decoder I try (Nvidia, GPL, Dscaler) I get a black border down the left hand side of my screen when playing live TV or recorded TV. This does not happen playing back other video files.

I can solve the problem by selecting the VMR9 Custom option which removes the border and solves the problem for both live video and playback. My problem with doing that is that I lose the ability to use my MCE remote (using standard MCE settings) when I play back and "non gbpvr" files, ie avi's or divx. Recoeded TV works fine. If I press any of the buttons nothing happens however moving the mouse or alt-tab brings the GB-PVR windows to the front and allows the remote to work fine. Somehow the GB-PVR window is obviously moving to the back while the video is being decoded.

Is this a bug of some sort or is there something I have missed? I never had the problem of the black border down the left using my old system and have tried reinstalling video drivers and numerous other things but to no avail. Using VMR9 Custom solves the problem - I just can't use my remote!

Are you sure you dont have one of the divx decoders installed that steals the focus when you playing an avi file? The decoder I'm referring to creates a little icon in the system tray, and switches the focus to that. Any resulting button presses go to that tray icon.

There was some fix for it in the divx forums, or alternatively you can uninstall that decoder and install an alternative one.

I'm pretty sure that'll be the cause.

Cheers sub..

It sounds like that is my problem. What decoder do you recommend?

Alternatively, try this program, which keeps GB-PVR in focus.
- Silent client PVR: HDPlex HS.1 aluminium fanless case / Thin-ITX ASRock H81TM-ITX motherboard / Intel Celeron 1850T CPU / 4GB RAM / 120GB SSD / TBS6982 DBS-S2 dual-tuner card / Win10+nPVR+Plex Media Player feeding LG OLED55B6V + Anthem MRX510 AV Receiver / PMC GB1 / B&W / REL speakers.
- Noisy NAS: Xeon / Intel mobo / 16GB RAM / FreeNAS + Ubuntu VMs on VMware ESXi + 12TB RAID
running Plex Media Server

Thanks - this program looks like it'll do another few nifty things as well so I'll have a play with that as well.

I use the original divx decoder and a quick google search shows it's a common problem.

You could try googling for DivXToolbarToggleTool. I'm farily sure that is the utility divx release to correct the issue.
