Can someone help a newbie out? I've set up my Nova-T-500 card inside my PC just fine and can watch freeview channels fine using the ugly Hauppauge application.

I've also got my card to be recognised in GBPVR by modifying the bda.ini file to delete four 'spaces' as recommended in several topics here.

However I'm stuck at what to do about setting up my EPG...

Should my EPG source be XMLTV, or DVB EPG? If XMLTV, then which .xml file do I point it to use (I've downloaded the latest XMLTV file from their site). Any help on getting a newbie up and running very much appreciated.

I'm running XP Home SP2, live in London, and downloaded the gbpvr yesterday, so I assume it's the most recent version.

Thanks to all in advance.

Welcome to GB-PVR!

I would recommended to use the DVB EPG. Once selected you need to click "map digital channels..." to set it up. Post again if any problems.

but before you do that, make sure you apply the DVB EPG patch from the 99.21 sticky.

Thanks McBainUK, and GeD for the advice. Tried it but to no success.

However am quite ashamed to say that my post could have been avoided if I had only followed the instructions on the tin and installed net 2.0 BEFORE the gbpvr application, rather than the other way around...

Having uninstalled gbpvr, repairing Net2.0, and then installing gbpvr again it now works well. I'm sure there's lots of help I'll need regarding other issues in the near future but thanks, and sorry, for the advice up to now.

It happens a lot Big Grin, shame the installer software can't check for prerequisite software.
