So I just moved for the summer, and am having to set everything up again with different things available to me...
I now have everything working EXCEPT the MVP...

I used to have it connected to my PC through a wireless router, but because of where I'm living I can't use the router to connect them to eachother, or to connect my PC to the internet...

So I now have a USB-wireless device to connect the PC to the internet, and a wired cable connected to a Netgear switch, which is plugged into the MVP... I'm using Vista, and am sharing my internet connection on the PC.

When I boot up the MVP, it finds the computer, and the server.
Then it loads the application.
Then it suddenly reboots, and can't find the server again (unless I unplug the MVP's power and plug it back in...)

Any idea why it sees it for 20 seconds, and then loses it?

Thanks!

-Connor

Nothing really springs to mind, but zip and attach the logs and I'll see if there is anything obvious.

I've never logged before...
Do I set to debug? And then which file does it create and do you want (I assume it's something in the 'logs' folder...)
Thanks Sub!

It looks like your MVP cant connect back to the server address at 192.168.0.1. Do you know what IP address the MVP ends up being allocated? is it on the same subnet?

Honestly not sure... When I choose the server to connect to (on the MVP) 192.168.0.1 is where it tries to connect to....
The MVP and the PC are the ONLY things connected to the switch.

The switch sets the subnet right? Do I need to login to the switch's menu and change what addresses it gives or something?

Thanks Sub!

Check that the IP on the PC is 192.168.0.1 and has not changed some how.

Run IPCONFIG from the command prompt and see what it says there.

The IP of the card connected to the MVP is 192.168.0.1
The IP of the wireless connection (to the router, and the internet) 192.168.1.105
Then there's also a broken ethernet card on the motherboard... Which doesn't have any IP address...

Thanks!
