gbpvr doesn't detect wintv 950 (980 in device manager)

I know some folks have had trouble with highly boosted indoor antennas and ota astc, I'll see if I can find the link. Noticed you said that the "hauppauge software tunes fine". Does wintv display LiveTV fine, ie smooth playback etc.?

though it can tune channels...it stutters quite a bit..lag between actions/sounds...particularly on the ones at 1080i. the 480 channels are alright.

i also tried letting gbpvr tune channels hooked up to time warner cable and it also couldn't tune anything. as a result, i just returned it this morning.

Strange...the hvr950 has worked great for me with gbpvr on 4 different computers. It has worked as well as my 2 pci Twinhan 3250's and much better than an ati HD wonder (though I never used the wonder with gbpvr). When you talked about hooking it up to cable, I am assuming you were doing analog? I am not aware of anyone getting the 950 to work with analog (I have not tried it myself, nor do I have a desire to).

Oh well, hope you don't give up on ATSC permenatly...I really like it ...well except for the fact that I have to use the dvr-ms mux to get anything usable:mad:

i tried two antennas and time warner cable from the wall....but all three didn't work w/ gbpvr.
