Hello,

Is it possible with GBPVR to record say a 4 hour time slot on a specific channel rather than selecting all the individual shows?

Thanks,
Curtis

I've done it a few times. Choose time and channel and press record.

You can do a manual recording. It's all that I do. I don't (and have never) used an EPG. I have a mix of UHF and VHF (local and distant, NTSC and ATSC) plus analog cable and QAM cable. Your biggest problem will probably be that you haven't labeled your channels accurately enough if you have more than one tuner or capture device set up.

You can enter the time manually by typing in the numbers, otherwise you can't add padding (other than 15 minutes). The old interface works better since the left/right arrows for channel selection in "manual recording" are missing in the new interface (you have to use the keyboard arrows).

Big Grin While the PC does potentially have three IR receivers (plus a cordless mouse and on a KVM switch +VNC) , they are tied to specific applications or hardware. My hardware playback devices (MyHD and Hollywood Plus) are so much better for mpeg/ts playback (and they both have dedicated remotes) that I generally only use software playback for AVI/DIVX files. I never watch commercials, so all files have been edited before playback.

While I am technically a JP1 "Expert", I prefer a trackball and keyboard. I guess I've just not bought into the Microsoft "10 foot" KoolAid.
