Config.exe hangs setting up QAM with HVR-1600

I'm having trouble doing a channel scan with my new HVR-1600. When I scan it gets to channel 85 of 138 and then I get a popup that says "GB-PVR Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and then give the M$ send data screen. When I click on don't send it closes the configuration program. When I open the configuration back up I find that the channels up to 85 are available and I can map to them, but I can't get any of the higher channels and it seems my networks are on 109 and 110 (according to the Hauppauge WinTV program).

I see there's a fix for scanning problems with older versions of GBPVR, but I didn't know if I should try that fix on the new version.
