Xvid files wont play anymore

A few versions back I had no problem playing Xvid files but now on recent versions I can't play them anymore. I have the Xvid codec installed and I can play the videos in other programs but all I get from GBPVR is a black screen that I can't exit out of. I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del and shut down GBPVR from the task manager in order to exit. As far as i can tell it's only Xvid videos that do this. Short of transcoding all of my videos, is there any fix?

I had a similar problem, but with DivX files. I got round it by using a FourCC changer to change my DivX files to Xvid - it's not a transcode, only takes a second.
However I think the real problem for me was ffdshow - I was using it for post-processing and it was this that made gbpvr crash. I got a newer version and the problem went away.
