Wink This is very random. But maybe fixed, but i can't search the forums at the moment.

I am running:
GBPVR 1.0.16
Hauppauge DVB-T Daul 500
Hauppage remote

I have installed WinTV and the IR software which all works fine.

I installed GBPVR and the remote works well on this with the Hauppauge IR remote software running.

Initially i am able to navigate around the menus perfectly with the remote.

BUT when i go into live TV and leave it for 5 seconds, only the up and down arrows work. The Guide button does not work. Plus when i go back to the menu, when i press OK (enter) on must menu items it just takes me back to the Live TV.

It's almost as if the IR software loses focus on the application when Live TV is used OR GBPVR is processing data.

Any ideas.

Sorry I can not help. I also have a very similiar problem with pvrx2 1.0.16.
By the way, "Search" in the forum not working.

My scenerio:
(Hauppauge 45 button, that came with pvr-150) Remote works fine with all the menus, but once opening a Video it instantly will not work. I've also tried "Windowed Mode" but the same thing occurs. In Windowed mode I can see the PVRx2 window turn grey instantly when I open a movie. Therefore I know it is losing it's focus, or thinks another window is in front. I have to click the window with a Mouse to activate it again....

I've also tried using "Direct access to Hauppuage Remote" from the Misc tab, but did not make a difference. What is this setting for anyway?

did you guys click on fix 45 button remote and then restart ir.exe.

sounds linke your mpeg video / audio decoder is stealing focus. do you get some kind of toolbar appear? maybe there is an option to disable this. the divx decoder is well known for doing this.

I think you are on to something here.
I did try
- 45 button fix and restart ir.exe
- Live TV works fine
- a recorded one works fine

Looks like all divx movies are the problem when using pvrx2. I don't see any pop up windows, or anything on the tasktray about upgrading divx or anything. This did work fine with gbpvr. I really hope there are some ideas or fixes for this as I have all my movies converted to divx. ouch!

good to hear (the fix button adds a gbpvr section to c:\windows\irremote.ini) this is what ir.exe uses to map the buttom presses to the keyboard keys that gbpvr uses.

tip: edit this file in notepad and find the [defualt] section. at the end of this section add

GRNPOWER={run(c:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\PVRX2.exe)}

then when you press the green power button it will start pvrx2. if it is already running, it should bring it back in focus. if you use the -fse option, you will have to play around to see how to add that. I am not using pvrx2 atm.

Hi there,

Thanks for all your threads.

I have the 45 button setup (and clicked the set 45 button in DVD config)

But still no luck.

Basically the problem occurs when i exit Live TV use the remote to navigate to the guide button and press enter.

I've taken a good look at the irremote.exe.

I think i modified it to shutdown if i press the green button again. I will try your idea of resubmitting the focus.

I'm starting to think against the focus problem though. Since i am able to contorl everything else on the screen except the few buttons which take me to the wrong function (guide takes me to Live TV).

Any more ideas?

if the green button shuts down the pc, i think that ir.exe isn't running correctly. this happens to me if i don't restart ir.exe when the pc comes out of standby.

I have an autoit script (in community announcements) that I use to restart ir.exe and gbpvr after wake up.

the arrow keys and OK key will work even if ir.exe is not working right with gbpvr. you will only know that it is working right if the back key works correctly.

not sure if this is related to the problem that you are having or not.

Both suggestions were excellant! I removed the toolbar 1st. (I did not even know I had one...) Then tested and the remote was working when opening movies again.
I added the line to open pvrx2 as I wanted the Green power button to open PVRX2 when not in use, anyway.
Thanks for the help!
