I had been having a problem with the MVP sometimes going from its normal video to one that was stretched well beyond the edges of the screen. The only way to get the MVP to change back was to power down the MVP and reload the dongle.

I found out it was related to the MVP scaling the "Low" quality (I believe 320x240) recording setting in GBPVR. Whenever I recorded something using the low setting (by just pushing record or using quick record for example instead of actually going to the record menu and specifying "High" or "Medium" quality) the MVP would incorrectly scale the video and create a picture that was stretched well beyond the edge of the screen on the left hand side. Many times it was stretched until the station icon was partially off the screen.

I replaced the "Low" profile and the "Medium" profile with the settings from the "High" profile (I always want to record with the high settings) and I have not had the issue since.

Sad

Reoccured even with the change. Right in the middle of a program too so I have no idea what may cause it.

Here I thought I was sooooooo smart and had actually fixed something....

Oh well.

I use to always have problem with my MVP where the right side of the screen would overscan. People's heads would start looking really fat. The problem would always goaway if I powered my MVP off for 15 seconds, but it would slowly return over several days.

This problem has gone away for me in the last few weeks. I am not positive to what really fixed this since I made several changes to my setup all at the same time. These included changing over to a new server machine running Vista, upgrading to 1.0.16 gbpvr and switching to the mvpmc dongle. If I had to speculate to what really fixed the overscan, I would have to guess the switch to the mvpmc dongle.

I will go to MVPMC eventually.

For awhile I had a problem with it loading the config file. I tried all kinds of things to make it work but never resolved it. Then months later I tried it and the file loaded. Smile Not sure what changed, but I am glad it worked.

I have also always had a problem with FF/RW. The picture freezes when I try it. I know FF/RW is actually working because if I let it sit there like that for awhile it has actually FF/RW when I hit "Play". I thought I had the timestamp bug so I use the latest driver. I also tried using the Reg fix but it screwed up FF/RW with the normal dongle. I still need to try the reg fix with MVPMC.

Having said all that I know the people on this forum could fix my FF/RW issue. However the fall season is starting and my wife will KILL me if I keep fiddling with our setup. :p
