How much RAM do you have installed on this system? If less than 3 GB, there is absolutely no point in your running any 64 bit operating system. If >= 3 GB you may get an advantage with a 64 bit OS, but only if you're running applications that require massive memory allocations (e.g. commercial web server, enormous CAD projects).

I recently built my HTPC on an Athlon 64 x2 base, and tried really hard to get MythTV running on AMD64 Linux, but had so much trouble with basic drivers that billed themselves as "AMD64-compliant" that I threw it away. Fell back to 32 bit XP, installed GB-PVR and couldn't be happier.

Yes, I too have discernible delay between raw video source and my PVR500/GB-PVR display, but video quality is perfect and that is what I really care about.

Yes, GB-PVR works with Vista, but I cant vouch for the 'no deinterlacing' option since I only ever use the 'encoder pass though' option on my Vista box.
