I was certainly going to try installing the x86 version of the Visual C++ redistributable package when I got home from work. But given that I am running XP x64 and already had the x64 version of the package installed, you can understand why I was incredulous that the x86 version would install and work.

Fortunately it worked! Thanks for the help.
