Changing channel order in the TV Guide

I've tried searching to see if this has been asked before but I get 10 pages of search results no matter how I word my query.

Anyway, I've been using GB-PVR for about a week now and love it - thanks sub, definately the best app. I've tried so far with my PVR 350 and MVP.

One minor point (and it is pretty minor) - the TV Guide shows the channels sorted in ascending channel number order. I'm in the UK and have grown up with the order of programmes on TVs and videos as BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5. Unfortunately, ITV1 is ch. 23, BBC1 is ch. 26 and so on. This makes the order on the TV Guide screen as ITV1, BBC1, Channel 4, BBC2, Channel 5.

Is there any way to force a manual sort order? It would feel more comfortable to look at.

You can change the order on the main "Channels" tab in the Config app.

I tried this - I can only seem to edit the ch. number for each row so I tried (from top down) 26, 33, 23, 30, 37 and clicked OK. When I re-open the Config app. and the Channels page, the channel numbers are in ascending order again but the channel names don't match. It now thinks BBC2 is the top channel and is ch. no. 23 (which is ITV), it thinks the next down is Channel 4 and is ch. no. 26 (which is BBC1).

Which channel list did you edit? There is two, the main one on the "channels" tab, and the list of channels associated with the capture source (visible when you edit the capture source).

The one on the Channels tab as you said.

Here's the weird thing. I edited it a second time and it then showed the top slot as Channel 4 (but as ch. no. 23) with the others also wrong.

I persevered and the third time I did it, it finally got the right order. Interesting 'feature'.

OK - now I got it.

On the Channels tab, the 'Channel Number' translates to the 'Preset' position on a television. What confused me is that initially this tallied with the 'Source Channel' of the actual channels. The wording on the Channels tab says that they can be different but I couldn't understand how that could be because of that reason.

I've numbered them 1-5 now to make life easier.
