HD on cable

I have Comcast Cable here in MN,USA and I was wondering about recoding and viewing the free HD content that they rebroadcast.

What tuner would be needed for this? Would a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 work for this?

If you are using digital cable which broadcasts digital cable channels "in the clear" (clear QAM), you can receive these QAM channels with the new WinTV v6 application.
Note: not all cable TV networks broadcast clear QAM channels
Note: Vista Media Center does not currently support clear QAM channels. To watch clear QAM channels, you should use the Hauppauge WinTV v6 application.

Yes, you'll be able to use GB-PVR with a HVR1600 to tune in and record any clear QAM channels on your cable network.
