Hi. I searched the forum and read the sticky's but could not find an answer for this. I am a noob when it comes to PC based TV.

My system: Intel Quad Core 2.4; 4 GB Ram; Vista Ultimate 64 bit; Hauppauge HVR-1600; Hooked up to Bell ExpressVU

I know....I made a blunder with Vista X64...but have to live with it now.

My Problem:
1) If I run the "tuning assistant" it finds channel 3 from my satellite receiver and the correct show is playing and the quality is very nice

2) I have run the "Config" utility and updated the EPG from CT TV. The channels all populated, complete with descriptions and manually added channel 3, found by the tuning assistant.

3) When I go back to GB-PVR and click on Live TV, it tells me that I have to run the config utility and force the EPG to update, which I have done.

It refuses to recognize that the EPG has been updated with channels.

Anyone have a solution? I am sure it is something simple that I am missing, but I have spent hours on this and am very frustrated.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Vista's file protection might be getting in the way.

Try deleting the "c:\users\<user account>\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\devnz" directory, then try again.

Also, when you run the config app it should prompt you to run it as administrator. If it doesnt, then manually run it as administrator.

That worked perfect.
Now I am watching very slow choppy tv. LOL
But at least I have the picture.

I will search on how to fix the choppy playback on Vista 64 bit. I
If I cannot find the solution in the forum I will post a new thread.

Thanks

What videocard are you using?

Is it a highdef channel you're trying to watch?

What video decoder do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app?

Hi,
I am using dual Asus 8800GT 512 in SLI mode.
No HD, Just an analog signal from a satellite reciever.
I have "None - Use software decoder selected"
The only other two options are Haupauge PVR 350 and Sigmas design X card.

Sorry, I dont know then. They're the typically settings that would cause choppiness.
