Martin,

Sorry for the confusing title but I came up with nothing better. I have managed to set up my PCH as you have described. I get the GB-PVR menu and I can move around. I have also been able to play some recorded shows and one or two avis. However, most of the times I try to play avis the screen "popcorn buffering" appears for a short while but then goes back to PCH menu. Weird enough, the sound of the movie continues to play. Other times the PCH just restarts.

Trying to go back to mvpmc and start telnet, I get the message "mkdir: Cannot create directory" and I have to restart my PCH. I have looked through the logs but am not sure what to look for.

Please advise what additional information you need.

Thanks,

Do the same files always cause the same problems? or do they work after a restart?

Also do the files that don't work have and .srt or other sub-title file? Right now I'm pretty sure GB-PVR has a problem with them, which I could see causing the problem you describe.

I have tried with many different files both with and without SRTs, all with the same problem. Coming to think about it, I actually only got it to work the first time I tried. That same file is also causing the problem now.

Is there any logs to look at?

The cannot make directory error is probably because you are selecting the telnet option after it has run. It only needs to run once after a power up.

To look at the problem I'd like you to zip up all your logs from "C:\Program Files\devnz\GBPVR\logs" and attach them. I am know guessing that ffmpeg is enabled but you don't have the proper output folder or sub's ffmpeg does't know how to handle you avi file.

My bad bad bad, after some additional testing I discovered you were right in your first post. Most of my avis have srts and I hadnt really looked. All works well with single avis.

Any remedy on playing files that has srts or do I need to remove them?

Also, the video library screen looks weird. It goes outside the TV screen. The main menu looks just fine. I am using the blue standard skin with the resolution set to 720p.

Many thanks and sorry for taking up your time with this nonsens.

Its something I intend to look into, but I'm a bit busy with my day job at the moment. For now you'll need to remove them.

If its off the edge of your screen then you're seeing some overscan on your TV, and you'd need to adjust the size/offset for that client machine in config.xml
