Looks good. I like the idea of the integrated media jukebox. So for a pure playback client this could probably work for npvr. Pity it doesn't run xbmc... Or syabas came with open arms and specifications to mvallevand so he can work his magic...

I see they don't even mention pricing and in one post he says that will be known on the 18th. I'm thinking $200.

I looked at a few of the youtube videos and it looks much improved over my A-110 though I can't say I use mine for much more than NPVR. Maybe my loss.
Like everything else, it has Apps now. Oh, look what Apple has started.

No neither do I.
  • Turn on
  • Right, Right, Right, Right
  • Enter, Enter
  • NPVR goodness - what popcorn UI I never saw it Big Grin

But having XBMC on there, or even being able to put mvpmcx2 on there may allow me to look at one of these inthe lounge. I'm still tossing up a media player or small PC client for a lounge machine when I finally move the PVR to a cupboard.

No promises, but right now I am working on getting mvpmcx4 working on Flash for the whole Syabas family, the NMT 2x0/300 and the Popboxes. I expect around $200 (in the US, "overseas" prices can be crazy to estimate) to be competitive with other intermediate level players. The Popbox V8 on the other hand won't come with the fancier jukebox or apps of the NMT but the price of EUR 139 might be easier to handle. Here's are review of the V8 http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2011/10/...popbox-v8/ The player will rely more on the Syabas player, so the safest bet is still the mpvmcx2.

Regarding loading, (since the discussion digressed a bit) if it pans out, x4 will be an app. on the "App Market" hopefully eliminating that initial stress with mvpmcx2.

Still running GBPVR and MVPs here having missed out on the refurb popcorns... I have been waiting for some logical path to the future and this looks like it's the ticket.
Thanks Martin for all your hard work, I am sure I am not the only one who has been waiting in the wings for an upgrade path other than the refurbs. Things are looking up!

In the Netherlands it will be sold for €239 according to the Dutch importer of Syabas.
The lowest price for a A-210 is ~€200. So I guess price won't go down much for the A-300.

But, there is more competition and less money to go around so if the price does drop, it would not surprise me. The price of electronic devices, especially computer hardware, has been very low for over a year now.
