Help with Hauppauge 45-key remote

I've got a remote that works fine on a system with a HVR-3000 but I can't seem to get it working on another system with a new install of GBPVR 1.2.9 and HVR-900.

I've confirmed that the irremote.ini settings for GBPVR are there but it doesn't seem to respond to any buttons at all. I've only installed ir32.exe. No WinTV or Powercinema.

I'd really appreciate if any using the HVR-900 with a remote can let me know if there is a trick to getting it going or some way to verify outside of GBPVR that the remote receiver is actually working.

GBPVR settings or PVRX2 settings?

If using PVRX2 (new UI) with the Hauppauge remote you need to have a [PVRX2] section. Actually for a while I remember some characters were transposed - PXRV2 or something like that.

If using GBPVR (Old UI) then you need a [GBPVR] Section

Yes both [pvrx2] and [gbpvr] sections are in the irremote.ini file. I think config adds them both when you select the fix remote button.

have a look in your remote.ini file, does it have a [debug.txt] entry?

If so, start up notepad and create a file called debug.txt - then hit the remote and see if it puts anything in the text file. This will show you if the remote is actually working.

That's really cool. Thanks. I got it to work fine on my HVR-3000 but nothing from the HVR-900H at all.

System tray icon there so ir is definitely started.

So looks like something up with the hvr-900. These two cards aren't in the same machine are they?? No I just saw from your first post it's a new machine.

Not sure what to suggest, uninstall IR software and re-install?? Check versions are the same as the hvr3000 - get the latest from hauupauge??.

Tried the HVR-900 on another machine and it worked fine. So I'll reinstall the drivers and see.

Thanks Graham. I fixed my problem by plugging it into a different USB port. I guess it has the same effect as changing the port in the registry as suggested in the thread.
