Does anyone use Direct TV and GBPVR. I'm looking to get it and would like to know how it has to be setup prior to getting it

Search the forum - e.g. "directv gbpvr" came up with this -

To get started, however, you will probably need a blaster of some kind to control the set-top-box for changing channels.
I personally have a set-top-box dedicated for the PVR server and use USB-UIRT to control the box. It works great, but cannot do Hi-Def as I still use the trusty PVR-150 from Hauppauge. The new Hauppauge HD-PVR should be able to record HD off the component output

Ahh I spelled Directv wrong on my search i had 2 t's

I am running a 1600 so HD is not a concern of mine(no hd-tv's)

Mine came with a blaster but i have never dealt with USB-UIRT I'll have to check it out
