I bought myself an extra tuner card for Christmas. GB-pvr shows that it's recording two shows when they're scheduled, but only one records. I tried them manually. scheduled 2 quick records and checked the status. Both capture devices were recording. So the status says. I checked the harddrive directory. The directory was created for the show on capture source #1, but no file was there. Capture source #2 is working fine. I set up both as capture device #1 (being 2 different cards) . My first card was the pvr-250 so I'm guessing its capture source #1 and pvr-150 #2. Any ideas?

Hauppauge use the same card identifiers for the PVr150 and PVR250, so you need to set one capture source to device instance #1 and the other to device instance #2. There is no way to predict the order, so you'll need to try both combinations.

Sub,
Do I need to setup both cards as pvr-150's, 250's or as they are just changing the device number?

I changed the pvr-150 to be a pvr-250 device #2. It seems to be recording now! Maybe the pvr-150 should be pulled out of the config choices [Image: smile.gif]

Definitely not. If you try to configure PVR150 as a PVR250, attempts to set bitrate and quality settings etc will fail (defaults are used instead), and you'll also usually end up with mammoth files.

Oh,Oh [Image: tounge.gif]  I just noticed that yes I was recording 2 shows at the same time... BUT one of the shows was eating 1 gig of drive space a minute! verses 60 meg on the other show! Hmmm looks like a problem.

I set the pvr-150 as pvr-150 and tried flip-floping the device numbers between the to cards . can now only record from the pvr-150 (source #2) capture source #1 is sleeping [Image: sad.gif]
