You have mentioned stability a number of times now so I thought I would chip in.
I first set up gb about three years ago after trying out quite a few others & while I found it unstable when I was first trying to get things sorted out (such as BSOD's etc.) I persevered & after quite a bit of forum searching got it to the stage where I was willing to let the wife loose on it. It was a huge hit with her right from the first night. At this stage I would have some Windows errors every time after I re-booted but they would settle down after a day or two. After about a year of this I was forced to re-install when Windows decided it didn't like something about my SATA raid drives, I decided to re-install onto a separate 60Gb IDE drive & just use the SATA's for recordings etc. since then it has been totally stable. Even with the Windows errors I have only missed two recordings (excluding @#$%$#@ power cuts) in all that time & I record I would say on average five to six shows a day.
