Apologies if I am preaching to the choir ... Event Viewer is an application that displays the content of logs that include the system log and the application log and the security log. The application log should include messages with MsiInstaller in the Source column and these messages may contain info about any errors.

OK, I found it under "Windows Logs" > "Application". However, I'm none the wiser, because a search for gb-pvr turned-up a bunch of "recording service started/stopped" messages, plus these two gems:
