Hi, went into TV Guide last night and set the NZ-Aus rugby on Prime to record. But checking this morning, there is no recording - I've missed the game! What a pain in the ****
I've looked at the GBPVR logs and it looks like it tried to start recording at 10:29 (correct), although it indicates some issue... Note also it DID create a folder ("International Rugby") in my Recordings, but nothing is in it. I have no mention of the recording in 'conflicts', 'pending', or 'whats new' (unlike another time when both devices of my dual tuner were busy and a failed recording was there and with the status 'failed', which made sense).

Relevant(?) part of GBPVRRecordingService.exe-1.log...
Code:

... etc etc ... and the rugby isn't in here...
Let me know if the entire log - 100k+ (or a different log) is useful...

Zip and attach the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I'm not sure what time lord uses as an xml source, but I use dvbtoxml to get download my tvguide via dvb-s, and noticed yesterday that there was no scheduling information on prime for the duration of the game and thus set my recording manually. This may have been a contributing factor?

I use djkxml (almost mandatory since I am picking up dvb-t and the epg is really short). Seems it was correct since the guide shows the coverage finishing at 1:30am (and the gbpvr log shows the recording finishing at 1:32am, which seems right).

It tried to do the recording, but the device was already in use.

Oh I see. Sad Shouldn't the recordings screen at least have listed the failed recording though?

The tuner was recording D:\GBPVR\Recordings\The Chasers War On Everything\The Chasers War On Everything_20080913_22102240.ts at the time.

No it doesnt. It only ever marks a recording as failed if the recording service was not running at the time a recording was scheduled (liek machine switched off). For about the last two or three years I've intended to change this, but given I havnt yet, it may never happen.

I'd like to vote for this ;-)

Yes, I see, related to an issue I found :o sheesh, my mind like a sieve. I had thought I'd just wait for the next gbpvr update (with hvr2200 support). However 3 days later I got caught out yet again with what I expect is the same issue (so better try editing the bda.ini and direct.ini files).

I assume this is the same: Had Prime and TV1(?) set to record both at 8:30. When I started up pvrx2, both the Prime and TV1 recordings were in the "whats new" list. The Prime recording showed for literally about 1 second, then sound of static and a blue screen. Like the tuner had been taken away from it. Trying to play the TV1 recording gave me just a black screen, locking up pvrx2. After trying a couple of times, I looked in the recordings folder and it was 0 bytes.

Thought I should let you know... although it looks like the tuner was taken away from the Prime recording for the TV1 recording, the TV1 recording failed anyway. (But not listed as failed, hence my vote for that to be set as the status).
The other issue being that pvrx2 freezes when it tries to play this 0 byte file.
