Only channels with an asterisk next to the name are unencrypted. All the rest will unusable to you.
If you'd use the 'DVB EPG' option when you created you capture source, then at the end of the scan it'll show a list of all the channels. Tick the 'enabled' checkbox next to those you want to key (ie, the ones with the asterisk * next to the name). When you hit ok, and it askes if you want to update the EPG, click no (since there is no DVB EPG in the US QAM transmissions).
