Yea, I am thinking there is some issue on my end given no one else has an issue like this.

Could it be my music? I noticed I have a number of albums that have very strange characters in the artist and album tag. The albums are latin and originally had spanish characters like the n with the tilde (~) over it. Now in the place of the spanish characters there is a series of strange characters like the trademark sign (That circular symbol) and other things. Is that affecting the database or the lookup? The music plugin throws the error when it gets to a step called "creating md5 hash" or something like that.

I am betting the issue is my music. It has to be the plugin is great.

You might be right there, when the md5 hash folder images is created, the complete path to the folder jpg is "encrypted" into a file name. That's probably whats causing it. You could try to remove the latin characters and see if that helps. Beken is out travelling in Thailand, so he will not be able to make any modifications soon ..... probably.

Maybe I missed it, but are there plans to add Shuffle all songs, Shuffle artists, Shuffle Genre with this plugin?

sorry, I should have said "Shuffle artist" singular, as in, when the artist is selected, play randomly all songs by that artist. This and Shuffle All is not something I use all the time, but definitely sometimes when we need some instant slideshow background music.

I tried the CD player and found that it has problem with cds that also has a data part (a T Ledin cd with an additional jpg and link to a website).

I feel that it takes a while before the cd is loaded. I know that it takes a while for windows to make it ready, but does the cd-player try to load cd-info or other stuff before it starts to play?

We used Windows built in MCI functions, so mixed audio and data CDs fail.
The MCI interface can be used to provide a list of CD contents. However, this method is not good for calculating DiscIDs because it only returns a TOC for audio tracks on the CD. If the CD is mixed, and has both audio and data tracks, then the resulting DiscID calculation is incorrect. The advantage of using it is it is simple to implement.
