gbpvr not on top after standby

I noticed that if I put the machine into standby, when I wake it up, I have to hit the user icon to "login". When I do this gbpvr is visible, but does not have focus. So the remote doesn't work. I have to use a mouse to click on it so I can use the remote.
Is this normal? Do I have to set up a remote button as a click?
Or is there some trick in windows to fix this?

running xp sp3, latest build of gbpvr.

to fix the need to click on the user icon, I think you need to untick "prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" in the power settings within control panel.

to ensure that pvrx2 maintains focus, use this utility.
