Open the config.xml with notepad, then find and change the TVGuideChannelHeaderType to 1, it should look like this when you're done:
<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>1</TVGuideChannelHeaderType>
Then save the file - be sure to save as "all files" type or it'll make it a text file for ya.
I have the same question. I changed the type to 1 in <TVGuideChannelHeaderType>1</TVGuideChannelHeaderType>
and I still only get channel names (3 or 4 letters) on the TVGuide. Restarted GBPVR and even rebooted as well. Any ideas would be greatly apppreciated. Also tried type 2, what is that type for? The file had type 3 before changing it.
I noticed the other day when I was playing around with my EPG updates, I set the option to have the name displayed first and then the channel number. When I opened up the TV Guide/TV Listing, my channel numbers disappeared. When I turned that option back off, I then saw Channel Number and name. Not sure if that's related to what you're seeing.
Thank you for the replies. woody, I don't see those options in the config/EPG, perhaps my version does not have it (1.1.5, I need this because I use a PVR350).
I removed and added the EPG source again, same thing, only channel names shown.
I'm not sure which EPG updater you use but I use MC2XML. If you set one of the options to -F, when it pulls down and builds the guide, channel names are displayed before numbers. I hope that makes sense. Again, I believe when I tried this option, it wiped out the channel numbers from appearing in the guide all together. I'm not sure if this is related to what problem you're having so hopefully it doesn't confuse things.
