Help with a Streamzap remote

I am trying to get my streamzap remote to work with Gbpvr. I got Hip going and I am slowly learning how to configure it all. My problem arises when I try to use any of the colored buttons. The streamzap software has them set up to macro for different functions, but they don't have the option to have them do nothing or disable them. So no matter what I tell HIP to do with them, they open a web address, a program, maximize/minimize, etc... depending on what is selected under the driver software.

I was hoping someone else that uses this remote could help me out. thanks

actually any help with remotes in general would help me. I am trying to figure out how to use HIP. Every time I think i'm getting close to getting it working it dosn't work.

is there a good walkthrough on how to use HIP out there somewhere?

I haven't used HIP, but do use the Hauppauge remote on one machine, and WinLirc with IRex on another with success on both. There's a good write up of how to use WinLirc and Irex on the wiki.

As far as the colored buttons, it sounds like there's a config file set up somewhere. With the Hauppauge remote configuration are two parts. One is overall, the other depends on what application you're actively using. I can't say I've tried to use the color buttons to do anything applications specific, so I don't know if that works.
