I just have antenna and use it to pick up Canadian shows on analog and DTV US channels.

I have a PVR-500 which works fine. Both tuners are set up with the same two channels (for testing) and I can record two shows at the same time just fine.

Then I added a HVR-2250 and no matter how I configure this card...if it is configured at all in GBPVR, I can no longer record two analog channels simultaneously. I have tried setting it up as: two digital tuners; two digital & two analog; and also just as two analog tuners. The PVR-500 is also always there as two analog tuners.

I have also tried configure just the HVR-2250 itself an can't get it to record two shows at the same time in either digital or analog.

I only set up a couple analog channels. Both PVR-500 tuners are setup with only 2 channels (the same). Also when I configured the HVR-2250 I set it up with 2 ASTC channels (both tuners the same) and the same two analog channels as the PVR-500.

I don't have any EPG set up. They are all currently set to none.

Thoughts?

Basically I can't seem to correctly configure the HVR-2250 on its own and adding the HVR-2250 seems to break the setup of the PVR-500. I'm using 1.3.7

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look. Also give me a brief description of what you did and what happened.

OK. Just trying to get the HVR-2250 digital working. Removed the two PVR500 tuners.
I downloaded the updated Config.exe and NativeUtilities.dll.
The direct.ini and bda.ini look ok as far as I can tell from the other posts.

I add one digital source:
Select HVR-2250. set as device 1.
No EPG
two channels setup:
Name: ASTC1, Number 33
Name: ASTC2, Number 34
I go through mapping the tuning requests to these channels.

The channel scanning isn't consistent. The updated config.exe does not seem to help with this.

I then setup the 2nd tuner exactly the same except I pick device 2.
identical channel setup too.

I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong, but some of the channels from the first tuner show up in the second tuner and vice versa if I go back to edit that tuner. Removing the duplicate channels from the first tuner also removes them from the second tuner...?? Disabling seems to be ok.

Now. recording 1 channel works.
Recording 1 channel and trying to watch another does nto work. The recording status dialog looks as it should. It shows the first tuner recordig and the second one LiveTV...but no picture is there.
When I hit ESC it will tell me there are no tuners avaialble and I can only watch the show being recorded. If I do so there is picture and sound.

Can you show logs for two recordings at the same time?

One important thing I should mention is that manual created channels are different from those that come from a real capture source in that they're only ever associated with a single capture source. Even if you manually create channels on two capture sources with exactly the same name, the app will not treat them as the same channel. This may be playing a role in the problems you're experiencing. Before wasting too much time, it might be worth trying it with a real EPG source.

I could be wrong, but can I set up a proper EPG source if I'm just using an antenna to pick up Canadian and US stations? I looked at Schedules Direct, but there aren't any lineups that correspond properly to antenna. There are more than enough channels listed, but I have only a subset of those channels and they show up on different channels than in the EPG.

Let me clarify that. I guess the Map digital channels to EPG works ok for the digital channels, but can this be done for analog channels?

OK. I setup the EPG with schedules direct. Essentially I'm just using the EPG download to set up dummy channels since the programming means nothing to me as I'm using antenna.
I can now successfully record 2 digital and two analog channels at once.
However I have a lot of issues actually watching Live TV and playing back the .ts files. Sound is quite messed up in the recordings and watching live TV sometimes yields a black screen with only sound.

Great.

This is most likely decoder related. Post your logs and I'll take a look.
