If you are having problems with wireless then it might be worthwhile trying the web interface to gbpvr as it is more like real streaming and I think can transcode on the fly?? (not sure, I haven't used it much).

My playback is currently fine, and at a network utilisation of about 1MB/sec. However, it went jittery 20 minutes ago for 5 mins or so and I noticed it was using 3MB/sec. Why would that be? In fact its just gone up to 4MB/sec again and gone jittery.

What could be causing this?

Oh, and this isnt over wireless!
