I have an odd situation, it seems.
Some of my mp3s play fine in GBPVR (both at the pc and at the MVP), but some dont.
Comparing one to the other using MP3TagTools, everything looks the same (bitrate, format etc).. They all play fine in Winamp.

In GBPVR, the file appears to play, but I only get silence (occationally a very brief burst of noise).

Clean install of 1.4.7 and added WebRadio.

Any ideas ?

Logs attached.

If it is a problem on the MVP I'm not sure it relates to DirectShow. Could you update to Web Radio to the current version, it might relate to this problem http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=7 and if you are still having problems try the same test on the MVP and upload your logs again.

He doesnt say it clearly, but I'm fairly sure the problem is only occurring on the PC. We see a post about this same problem with MP3 files on the PC every year or so.

The problem files dont play on GBPVR (at MVP or at pc).
They do play in Winamp.
They didnt play in Graphedit, until I installed the patch that sub referred. Then graphedit played fine, but still no-go in GBPVR (either MVP or pc still).
I tried a reboot, didnt help.

Webradio is updated to 2.0.3.0

When I tried again on the MVP, I selected one song.. it didnt play, but I had my hands full (changing a 2yr olds diaper, if ya want details.. lol). I noticed that, although there was no sound, the audio tracks were 'playing' one after the other. Looking in the logs, I can see that the full file size (as compared to file properties in windows) is indeed sent to the MVP, then it says end of file and goes onto the next one. Problem is, the actual time in log is about 20 seconds.. whereas the track itself should be about 3 mins playing.

Somehow, some mp3s are playing hyperspeed ! lol (wonder if I had a dog, he could hear em ?)

>> Edit.. tried the same thing on the pc .. still no sound, but the time-factor thing isnt there. A 3 min song actually takes 3 mins in the logs to (not)play.

Logtime at about 9:48

It could be, that the "nonplaying" mp3 have integrated albumcover? Some tools, who integrate graphics into the mp3, make a few errors. I can remember that e.g. musicmatch jukebox maked a lot of my mp3 "unplayable" within wmp.

Perhaps you can try to remove those graphics and reintegrate them with another tool?

Interesting..

ShiningDragon got me looking at the files with MP3TagTools again.

No, there are no pictures indicated.

But.. it seems that all of the files that wont play do NOT have the Album tag set. Files that DO play, have an Album name. They all have Artist and Song name.

Could lack of Album name cause this ?

>> Edit.. added Album name to one track, still doesnt play in MVP or at pc .. was worth a shot.

There is something about those file the MVP doesn't like, but it is usually pretty good at finding the mpeg header . If you look at a "bad" file in MediaInfo what does it say the file contains?

BTW I recommend against running with the OSD at 700 with a 20 byte offset, I think you are could be just missing the first row.

Did ffdshow appear in the filters when played by Graphedit? If so, check the whitelist/blacklist options in ffdshow. ffdshow has Graphedit on its whitelist, but not PVRX2.EXE.
