getting hauppage hvr-950q to work with qam

I just had a look now, but cant see any obvious cause.

Does it always freeze at the same channel number?

yes, at channel 71, after it detects about 6 channels from channel 67 and 68.

funny thing is I looked up on silicondust.com and in my area there are no channels on 71. It goes from 67, 68, to 76 i believe.

sometime it goes through all channels without freezing, but that is becuase it doesn't find any channels either.

quick question: when should i be able to see channel preview during mapping? when it finds the six channel on 67 and 68, it doesn't show any of those on the preview screen. clicking on it on the channels found scetion doesn't show anything either.

Sometimes with QAM you dont - it depends on whether it comes to an encrypted channel first.

I dont really have any solid suggestions, but you could temporarily changing the qam.ini entries for 71 (or is it 72?).
