Looks promising, I already have a setup with a startup task to download EPG on HTPC boot, but if I hadn't, this would be a decent way to go. Was going to report the US profiles aren't included, but you found that out already.

I would add -a to append "*" to new programs for the US profile. We are able to process that info in the TVListings plugin.

Other than that, looks like a job well done. Its a shame you cannot include the MC2XML program, but I can understand the author's rights to have users go to his page to see his donation-ware advertisements.

Thanks Fatman_do for the tip and comments. Always nice with some feedback. :-)
But how and where does the * show...and in what new program ?

The TVListings plugin can process that info and show the "*" in the listings next to the show name. As I understand it, the US is one of the few places that this info is available.

"New program", does that mean it's not a re-run?

I need to clarify, it places the "*" in the show name, so it shows up in the regular gb-pvr guide as well. I did not think that was the case earlier.

Just to be clear, when you add the -a to the mc2xml command line it does a couple of things.

It adds and asterisk to the title. All the asterisk does is show the user that a program is new (not rerun)

GB-PVR can be set to record "Lost *" for example, and that would mean that GB-PVR would not record "Lost" but only "Lost *" shows...

By default, mc2xml will include a <new/> tag in the xmltv listing. (but only for some regions where that data is available) The xmltvextra helper program that works with TV Listings, reads through the xmltv file and adds a "NEW" mark in its own database.

TV Listings plugin then displays a "New" graphic.
